Skagit Conservation District selected for state grant

WASHINGTON, Skagit CD – Fines paid for water quality violations in Washington in the last few years will fund a project on the Skagit River.

The Washington Department of Ecology considered 32 grant requests from local governments, utility districts and fisheries enhancement groups across the state, but only 12 projects made the cut.

Ecology awarded the Skagit Conservation District $37,364 to enhance an existing wetland project to improve water quality in the lower Skagit River.
