Trump Signs 2018 Farm Bill As USDA Aims To Increase SNAP Work Requirements

President Trump signed the farm bill today at 4 p.m. without SNAP work requirement changes and has proposed the changes through the USDA.

The proposal, released this morning, seeks to have all Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs) ages 18-49 on SNAP placed into work programs, promoting the idea of ‘productivity’ over ‘poverty.’

“The goal is to move these Americans from dependents to independents and into a good paying job and rewarding career,” Trump said at today’s farm bill signing.
