OREGON, Benton SWCD — Yesterday, Holly Crosson of Benton SWCD (Corvallis, Oregon) presented an idea on sharing space to the conservation commissions from Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.
What is a shared space center? It is a physical place (usually a building or campus) where mission-driven organizations intentionally share space for mutual benefit, ranging from cost savings to shared programming.
This shared space initiative seeks to create efficiencies by sharing resources between similar organizations. Since duplication of resources would be reduced, the partners expect to see lower overall costs for operating their organizations. There is also an expectation that sharing resources will create even stronger partner relationships.
The slide show was provided by Holly who asked that I be sure to credit Jessica McDonald of Greenbelt Landtrust who put this slide show together.
