Alaska teens build water garden to wash away worries

ALASKA, Fairbanks SWCD — A team of eight teenagers in the Youth for Habitat program solved a rain drain problem at Raven Landing Senior Community by creating a rain garden. Youth for Habitat to the rescue. This local program for teens is operated by the Fairbanks Soil and Water Conservation District. It provides two-week-long outdoor projects for teens that focus on environmental conservation, habitat and water.
