The Natural Resources Conservation Service has released a 21-minute video about Hugh Hammond Bennett and the creation of the Soil Erosion Service (now NRCS) and local conservation districts. If you are a conservationist, this video is worth your time.
HHB was a pivotal influence at a critical time in this country. Without his work, the United States would likely be a different place today. The work we do in conservation districts builds on the foundation he built.
