If you didn’t already know, the National Conservation District Employees Association mission statement is: “To strengthen conservation district employee professional capacity and influence national conservation policy by providing leadership and proficiency.”
That’s a lofty goal, but as you’ll read in the June 2017 President’s Letter from NCDEA President Tim Reilly, NCDEA is moving forward. NCDEA is deeply engaged in policy-level discussions at the highest ranks of the Conservation Partnership. We bring to those conversations the perspective of the people doing on-the-ground conservation work, and I’m sure that helps shape better outcomes.
On a personal note, I’ve been in the conservation district family for 25 years. I have a pretty good grasp of conservation district issues and opportunities. I have found that every person on the NCDEA board is deeply experienced in conservation district operations and committed to advancing our conservation delivery system. It is an incredibly robust group of people working on behalf of the many conservation district employees throughout the nation.
We are made better through your participation. Please do forward this information to people in your conservation circle. I welcome any suggestions about how to better incorporate conservation district employee perspectives at the national level.
